"The Gundog Veterinary Bible an essential resource for gundog owners. This book is written in Harvey's simple, explanatory style and is illustrated where necessary to assist diagnosis and treatment. This book has been carefully thought out and provides a useful guide to preventative health care and emergency treatment. A truly useful book to have to hand should the worst happen" Shooting Times
"Shooting Times' vet columnist, Harvey Carruthers MRCVS, has written a new, highly accessible book on preventative health care and treatment of common problems affecting dogs. An NGO spokesman said: 'Whatever dog you own, this volume is well worth keeping in your first aid cupboard'". NGO Keeping the Balance
"Whatever the illness or emergency this book covers it, and does so in simple, clear terms that the layman can understand. A particularly sensible feature is that it is spiral bound, so it lays open on the table when you need to follow instructions. It is a book which you hope you will never need but know that, at some time, you probably will. And then it will be worth every penny". BASC Shooting & Conservation

"Every owner needs a book on first-aid and preventative healthcare, preferably one that is easy to use and understand... this book will be helpful to owners of all breeds. There are sections on pretty much every emergency you could face - from heat stroke to hypothermia, from a broken bone to bloat. With more than 180 topics - this really is a bible!" Dogs Today
"Written by a vet in easy-to-understand layman's terms, the advice in this book could save your dog's life. As such, it could well be the best £20 you ever spend! An excellent reference book... every bookcase should have one". Sporting Gun

"Harvey Carruthers' book does exactly what it says on the tin. If your sporting dog bumps into any of the hazards of the countryside, you will find what to do right here. Carruthers' language is clear, concise and tells it straight in layman's terms... the book is illustrated lavishly throughout with photographs of what to look for. Calling a book a 'bible' is a big call, and it seldom bears the comparison, but it is obvious in Carruthers' case, this title is thoroughly deserved." Charlie Jacoby, Sporting Rifle
